  1. Congratulations Anna!

    Apr 12, 2022

Anna Baltisberger, an undergraduate majoring in Sustainable Plant Systems with a specialization in Agroecology, successfully defended her Honors Thesis. Anna will be graduating with research distinction in May 2022 and focused her thesis on studying the ability of Mexican landraces to produce aerial roots that host nitrogen fixing bacteria in a greenhouse controlled environment. She was a recipient of the Will C. Hauk Memorial Scholarship Fund, which supported her research. Congratulations Anna!

  2. Congratulations Jack!

    Mar 9, 2022

Congratulations to Jack McCoy for placing 3rd in the CFAES category of OSU’s Edward F. Hayes Graduate Research Forum!

  3. Welcome Hannah Scheppler!

    Jun 14, 2021

Hannah is joining our lab as a doctoral student on the chile pepper project, specifically studying the concept of utilizing niche theory to help discover beneficial genes from crop wild relatives. She joins us from Miami University where she obtained her B.S. and M.S. in Biology. Welcome Hannah!

  4. Chee Ngui has joined our lab!

    Feb 11, 2021

Chee comes to us from Iowa State University where he received his B.S. in Horticulture Science and Seed Science. While working towards a Masters degree, he will focus on QTL analysis for chilli pepper. Welcome, Chee!

  7. Congratulations Noah!

    Feb 11, 2020

Noah Kayafas, an undergraduate majoring in Sustainable Plant Systems with a specialization in Plant Bioscience, received one of 15 awards from the Center for Applied Plant Science for summer research in 2020. The iCAPS (internships in CAPS) funding will provide funding for Noah to continue conducting his research on studying Mexican landraces of maize and analyzing their aerial roots for the production of mucilage. He is interested in seeing how these Mexican landraces may use the mucilage to host nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Congratulations Noah!
